MG Test - Prenatal genetic testing for chromosome abnormality

Using CGH Array system developed by Macrogen Inc., MG Med provides MG Test for prenatal diagnosis for genetic disorder.

Macrogen Inc. completed full genome analysis of asian individual established detection system of genetic disorder. Based on the genetic information acquired from the study, Macrogen developed BAC DNA chip which accumulated DNA fragments that represent specific regions from chromosome on a glass slide in high density to easily uncover chromosomal copy number and structural variation.

The system allows detecting chromosomal anomaly with high resolution and accuracy. The system is currently used by increasing number of MD's in Korea.

MG Test is recommended for pregnant women who are;

• In advanced maternal age (35+)
• With abnormal ultrasound scan result
• Supposed to have increased risk following biochemical screening
• Parent carries a chromosome rearrangement
• Having previous child with a chromosome abnormality

Disorders that are detected with MG Test is as following;

• Chromosome numerical abnormalities
• Down syndrome
